Register for the Challenge and receive free samples from Chick-Fil-A and Baltimore Snowball.

2nd Saturday Concert Series Presents Courtly Noyse
Saturday, June 9, 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., All Ages
Featuring performers in colorful period costumes singing, telling stories, and playing historic instruments in a recreation of Renaissance music.

Rhymes & Reading Storytime
Mondays, June 4, 11, 18, & 25, 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Ages 4–5
Stories and activities to help preschoolers prepare for kindergarten. Seating is limited to 30 children. Come early to secure a spot!

Knights Realm Chess Club
Mondays, June 4, 11, 18, & 25, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Ages 6–12
Learn to play or challenge your friends. All levels welcome!

Baby Summer Reading Challenge: Toddler Tales Storytime
Tuesdays, June 12, 19, & 26, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Ages Walkers – 3 Years
Read, sing, talk, and play together. Complete a challenge to win a fabulous prize.

Paws for Reading
Wednesday, June 7, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Ages 5–12
Read aloud to certified Love on a Leash pet therapy dogs for fun or to help improve reading skills. Children must know how to read. Pre-registration is required: library.escondido.org/register 

Baby Summer Reading Challenge: Baby Lapsit Storytime
Wednesdays, June 13, 20, & 27, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Ages Pre-walkers
Read, sing, talk, and play together. Complete a challenge to win a fabulous prize.

Ecovivarium of Escondido: World of Reptiles
Thursday, June 14, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Ages 4-12
Learn about reptiles and their habitats, favorite foods, and the role humans play in their survival. Get up close and personal with bearded dragons, other lizards, and snakes!

Foam Rockets
Thursday, June 21, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Ages 4-12
Explore space by building a foam rocket. Once complete, countdown to blast off and see how far it soars!

Sharpie Art
Thursday, June 28, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Ages 4-12
Use colored sharpie markers to create a piece of framed artwork that is uniquely you!

TEEN EVENTS:

Book Art
Wednesday, June 13, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Ages 12–17
Upcycle an old book by using it to create a hanging piece of art. All supplies provided.

Safe Space Escondido
Thursday, June 14, 4:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., Ages 12-17
Meet up with other LGBT+ and Allied youth ages 12-17 in a safe and friendly space to be yourself, meet new people and participate in craft activities. All facilitators are volunteers for the North County LGBTQ Resource Center’s Project Youth.

Gameology
Wednesday, June 20, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Ages 12-17
Explore different table top games, get a chance to take a trip using Virtual Reality (ages 13+), and check out our 3D printer while it works on your request

CLUE in Space
Wednesday, June 27, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Ages 12-17
Play a life-size game of CLUE that takes place on a star cruiser, in a galaxy far, far away.

Death Café
Saturday, June 2, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Death Café North County provides a safe and agenda-free place to discuss death and life over coffee, tea, and tasty treats. This is not a grief therapy group, but a friendly and interesting discussion of death, dying, and end of life concerns. RSVP is recommended at www.escondidolibrary.org/register

Escondido Writers Group
Tuesday, June 5, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Writers of all genres are invited to read their work and receive group critiques in a friendly and comfortable environment.

2nd Tuesday Book Club
Tuesday, June 12, 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.

Writers of all genres are invited to participate in an open mic event to read their written work and receive friendly critiques from the audience.

San Diego Comic-Con Adult Graphic Novel Book Club
Monday, June 18, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Membership in this group is limited to 20 and determined by application process. This month’s graphic novel selection is Sex Criminals Volume 1: One Weird Trick by Matt Fraction.

Rincón Literario Bilingual Book Club
Saturday, June 30, 10:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
Bilingual book discussion in English and Spanish will discuss The Nest / De buena famila by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney.
