Levitt AMP Escondido Music Series At The California Center For The Arts
First-Ever Free 10-Week Outdoor Music Festival at Grape Day Park
The California Center for the Arts, Escondido is excited to announce the 20 musical acts (10 opening acts/10 headlines), that will be performing for the first-ever Levitt AMP Escondido Music Series this summer. The event will include food, a makers market with interactive crafts, and a wine and craft beer garden.
The series will be held 10 consecutive Saturdays (with the exception of Saturday, September 1st, which is Labor Day weekend), starting August 25, 2018 and ending on Saturday, November 3, 2018 on Grape Day Park in Escondido. Each “mini festival” will take place from 4pm-7pm and feature a beer and wine garden, art activities, games, vendors, and more in addition to the live music presented on stage. We are partnering with the Escondido Wine Region to bring different vintners to the Center each week to showcase the diversity of wineries in the area.
The opening acts include local musicians from all over San Diego County including Coral Bells; Inna Vision; The Lyrical Groove; Euphoria Brass Band; Jimmy & Enrique; Lisa Sanders, Brown Sugar and Friends; Anthony “Fallbrook Kid” Cullins; Los Hollywood; Finnegan Blue; and Dueto Dos Rosas.
The headliners include Run River North; E.N. Young; Sidewalk Chalk; La Patronal; LADAMA; Alice Wallace; Digging Roots; Metalachi; Kingsley Flood; and Las Cafeteras.
Community Programs Manager, Stephany Farley, commented that “This is a huge opportunity for our community and I am very excited to share this music series with Escondido!”
Escondido was selected by the Levitt Foundation as one of the 15 mid-sized towns and cities across America to win a Levitt AMP Music Series Grant to present a “Concert Series in the Park.” While the program has been transforming cities across the nation since 2015, Escondido is the first city in California to be granted an award. AMP stands for Amplify community pride and the city’s unique character; to enrich lives through the power of free, live Music and to illustrate the importance of vibrant Public Places. Escondido’s Grape Day Park certainly meets this criteria!
The Levitt AMP Escondido Music Series is generously sponsored by Escondido Wine Region, The San Diego Foundation, The San Diego Music Foundation, City Beat, Mother Earth, Nordson Corporation Foundation, Southern Exposure, Visit Escondido, Escondido Downtown Business Association and Museums & Arts Growing Escondido Culture (MAGEC).
