Summer Food Truck Festival at Bates Nut Farm

The annual Valley Center Summer Food Truck Festival rolls into Bates Nut Farm with food, entertainment and family fun.  It all takes place on Saturday, August 18 with several of Southern California’s top gourmet food trucks as the main attraction.   The fun continues with live music, an overnight camp out under the stars, and a movie night to benefit the American Cancer Society.

From 4:00 – 8:00 pm some of San Diego’s favorite food trucks will be serving the best in mobile cuisine.  Participating in this year’s festival are Organic, Epic Eatz, SuperQ, Mariposa Ice Cream, Sushi Uno, Pomodoro Rosso, SnoCal Shaved Ice and Lil Miss Shortcakes.

Organic’s fresh, healthy, delicious menu includes many crowd favorites such as Sautéed Brussels Sprouts, Seared Ahi Salad, and Grand Lobster Mac N Cheese. Friendly service and healthy food are why Organic remains one of San Diego’s more popular food trucks.

Pomodoro Rosso’s specialty is homemade, authentic Italian cuisine.  Everything including their bread, sauces and meatballs is homemade with authentic recipes.  Sandwiches, salads, pizzas, pastas and desserts are all made in house.

Sushi Uno sources all of their fish from Catalina Offshore Products.  Their menu has a variety of appetizers, traditional rolls, and specialty rolls, and their followers are consistently impressed by the quality of the fish and superb customer service.

Lil Miss Shortcakes is a Bakery & Café that bakes everything from scratch.  From Lemon Squeeze Cake, to Spumoni cupcakes, and even a Red Bull Vanilla Cake, they offer something for every taste.

Live music by local band Heidi and the Hurricane happens from 4:30 -7:30 on the Bates Stage.  They play an energetic mix of blues, country, southern rock and rock.  Their playlist includes favorites from Patsy Cline, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Kid Rock, Gretchen Wilson and Florida Georgia Line.  Their fans call them “exciting”, “fun, fun, fun”, “family friendly entertainment” and “a joy to listen to”.

Kids will have fun with Snow’s Pony Rides and the Kids Zone with a bounce house and slide.  Guests 21 and over with ID can pair their food truck fare with wine and beer in the beer garden.
