Robert Barry is a Professor of Photography Emeritus from Palomar College. His work has been exhibited and collected internationally.

His engaging photographs result from walk-abouts in the streets of whatever city he finds himself. He is attracted to relationships within the frame and works with color, shape, scale, space and viewpoint. His images are of locations that would typically go unnoticed, and often include graffiti. The size of his prints, the sense of depth, and occasionally the lack of it, plays upon the viewer’s perception and invites one to investigate deeper.

Mr. Barry says about his work, “Photography is about the relationship of things. When you continually look at the world to find these relationships, your awareness of your environment increases. All of these considerations are puzzled together to form a cohesive unit where the subject is the whole, the sum of its parts”
