Intro to Natural Dye :: Dye Cloth Napkins at Modern Maker Market

DO YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO USE NATURAL DYES, BUT NOT SURE WHERE TO BEGIN? ::

Join Jeanine, of ANINI Designs, on the morning of Sat., Nov. 10, 2018 to share in the creative magic of learning how to use Natural Dyes to dye and refresh your own linens. Each student will leave class with a cotton dye sample from each of the dye pots, as well as two gorgeous Linen Cloth Napkins dyed by yourself.

This 3-hour hands-on workshop will dive into a brief history of Natural Dyes as we learn the Natural Dye process for Cellulose fabrics. We will scour, mordant, dye and rinse our samples together, learning the basics of an ancient art form and life practice. It’s a mix of fun and experimentation as we explore color and add to the beauty of your own space.

Each student will receive:

* A handout on the Natural Dye Process for Cellulose Fabrics

* A Fabric Sample from each Natural Dye Pot

* 2 Linen Cloth Napkins to Dye

* An opportunity to purchase additional Napkins/Linens that you may prepare & dye during class or take home. (Items range in price from $10-30 each.)

This event is part of Escondido’s 2nd Saturday Arts & Culture Experiences.
