North County Players presents the Christmas production “Hope Springs, Eternal”
What would you do if someone offered you more money than you’ve ever seen in your life to do something worse than anything you’ve ever done in your life?
A man named Charlie wanders into a small town sheriff’s office one afternoon during the Christmas season. Some say Charlie is an angel but he sure makes one devil of a mess. Who is Charlie and what is he up to?
The award-winning San Diego North County Players brings the exciting stage play, “Hope Springs, Eternal” to the stage this holiday season. Written by master storyteller and nationally published playwright Charles Caratti, “Hope Springs, Eternal” tells the story of a post-WWII Midwestern town caught up a web of lies, corruption, and ultimate redemption. Told in the tradition of beloved classics like “A Christmas Carol,” “Miracle on 34th Street,” and “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “Hope Springs, Eternal” is just the thing to get you into the holiday spirit.
The show is packed with locally- and nationally-known actors including Lolly Boroff, Fred Gaines, Lexsy Aviles, Charles DeNatale, Marsi Carr, Ford Curtiss, Bill Kvitli, and Elizabeth Toker.
“Hope Springs, Eternal” is complimented by dozens of musical passages and sound effects that make it feel more like a movie soundtrack than what is normally experienced in a theatre production, including exciting big band arrangements of all your Christmas favorites.
Additionally, “Hope Springs, Eternal” will be performed in-the-round, an exciting way for audiences to get as close to the action as they wish.
“Hope Springs, Eternal” is perfect for the entire family (mild PG-rated language) and the venue provides plenty of space to socially distance if you wish and an air purification system for added safety. Plenty of well-lit parking, a snack bar and refreshments, including wine, are available. The venue is situated at the intersection of E. Mission Ave. and N. Rose St. right in the heart of Escondido.
Evening and matinee shows take place Dec. 9, 10, 12 and 16, 17, 19. Tickets are set at movie theater prices so the entire community can experience excellent live theater.
