Mindfulness and Meditation Retreat:
Take a break from your daily routine and receive a deep dose of the self-care you deserve. We human beings are constantly juggling our responsibilities! The proven secret to being more effective and living a happier, healthier life is to slow down and learn Mindful Method tools like mindfulness, meditation, self-compassion practice, gratitude and happiness practice. Experience these evidence-based techniques in an intimate retreat setting with Mindfulness expert Julie Potiker. She is the author of the book Life Falls Apart, But You Don’t Have To: Mindful Methods for Staying Calm in the Midst of Chaos. Julie’s fun, upbeat and authentic approach has been lauded by her fans, now numbering over 70,000! In addition, an Internal Martial Arts practice from China will be taught by Yunuen Rhi. The Baguazhang system applies Ying Yang philosophy to a martial body movement practice. It harnesses wisdom from Taoist and Buddhist principles dating back to the founder of Shaolin Kung Fu and Zen Buddhism. It is a powerful tool to combat emotional and body ailments because it teaches how to fight with a full spirit. Return home feeling recharged, with a better chance of witnessing 2019 unfold with more balance and ease.
Art and Music Event:
After the retreat you may attend the art and music event. Over 25 artists will be showing their work, which ranges from olfactory installations to light and sound experiences. This artwork discusses the impetus of stress, challenges and disconnection. Alternatively, it unveils ideas on how we can overcome and champion a peaceful state of mind. The show additionally illuminates the neuroscience that examines how mindfulness and other techniques positively affect the grey matter in our brain, which can change our focus, attention and overall health. The audience is invited to explore interactive installations, experience nature, the winding paths, sounds of the flowing creek while being an observer of their present state of mind.. During the daytime retreat, and the evening event the audience can reconnect to others as they continue their own journey with a new resolution for the new year. The evening event features the band WSPRGRL and Nite Lapse
