Please join us for an extraordinary evening of wine tasting as Brian Miracle of Failla Wines will be on hand to present 5 wines from one of our favorite winemakers, the famous Ehren Jordan. Ehren is the winemaker/owner for both Failla and Day wines.
1998 was the first vintage of Failla Wines, which was, at that time, known as Failla-Jordan. The label took its name from famed winemaker Ehren Jordan and his partner Anne-Marie Failla. Since then, the label is now known simply as Failla, and they have focused exclusively on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah with a special attention on producing exceptional wines from very famous single vineyards throughout California and Oregon, including Keefer Ranch, Hirsh, Occidental Ridge, Peay, Platt, Hudson, Haynes, and many, many more. Understand that not anyone can source fruit from these vineyards; the vineyard owners only pick the best of the best to represent the fruit of their “grand cru” level vineyards.
While Ehren Jordan is still pretty young, he’s already a world-famous and extraordinarily influential winemaker. Having cut his teeth working at Jean Luc Colombo from Cornas in the northern Rhone Valley of France in the early 1990s, then putting Turley on the map, Ehren has been making very thoughtful and highly acclaimed expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and we will sample 2 of each tonight, with a focus on the extraordinary fruit from Keefer Ranch Vineyard in the Russian River Valley.
Ehren has also returned to what brought him fame by starting a new label called Day Wines. Day is focused on Zinfandel, which is what he made Turley famous for. We will sample one of his Day Zinfandels for some variety.
