The San Diego Archaeological Center announces an Exhibit Opening for By Land & By Sea on Saturday, February 9, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, as part of their Second Saturday Series. The event will be held at the San Diego Archaeological Center located at 16666 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, CA 92027. Admission is free.
Guests are invited to go back in time with the new exhibit, By Land and By Sea, which explores theories about who, when, and how early peoples came into the New World and into Southern California. The new web tour app, Cuseum, will provide additional audio and video content to enhance the visitor experience of this and other exhibits.
Other new exhibits include Archaeology 101, presenting the basics of archaeology through hand-on activities for adults and children; It’s A Crime, instructing visitors why keeping artifacts is illegal; and Lives and Lifestyles on Block 112: The Untold Story of San Diego’s Working Class, exploring the socioeconomic lives of people who lived in Downtown San Diego in the 1880s.
The mission of the San Diego Archaeological Center is to preserve archaeological collections and promote their educational, scientific, and cultural use to benefit a diverse public.
