Join San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum (SDCDM) on February 18th from 2:00 – 4:00pm for a celebration of the culture and community of Sweden. The afternoon includes a slideshow created by the Consulate of Sweden San Diego, storytelling by Literature Comes to Life, dance performances by the Performing Folk Dancers of Balboa Park, sing along performance conducted by The Swedish Sing Along Kids, and traditional Swedish snacks for visitors to sample generously donated by SWEA. Visitors can also experience all of the hands-on exhibits at SDCDM for FREE!

SDCDM Roots Series – 2017
San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is excited to present the SDCDM Roots Series as part of the Museum’s mission to celebrate and educate children and families about world cultures. Roots programs highlight the diverse cultural traditions of a community represented in San Diego County.
This free program features cultural performances, crafts, costumes, and other activities to showcase the culture’s rich art and history. Entertainment – often by children performers – can include storytelling, music, dance or puppetry. During the program month, the Global Village and Marketplace exhibit is transformed to reflect the culture, along with books and costumes. Additionally, craft and storytime will carry the theme of the celebrated culture with a different book and craft each week of that month.
Roots events are held on the third Saturday of alternating months from 2-4pm. Free admission begins at 1:45pm on the specified program date.
