    Saturday, September 6, 2014
    7:30 am 5k, 9:30 am parade, 9:30 am - 4 pm festival

Escondido's most historic event starts with a 5k fun run organized by the Sunrise Escondido Rotary Club. Then the historic parade travels down Grand Ave, and last but not least, enjoy the festival in its namesake park. The free festival includes grape stomping, an entertainment stage, vendor booths, fun zone, free grapes courtesy of Jimbo's Naturally, a wine and craft beer tasting pavilion and more!

For early birds, the Grape Day 5k fun run at 7:30 is the way to start your day.

The short Grape Day Parade begins at 9:30 on Grand Avenue and travels from Escondido Blvd to Juniper. It includes marching bands, walking groups, equestrians and historic automobiles.

Grape Day started in 1908 as a way to celebrate Escondido's grape harvest and promote the city. It flourished until 1950, and then was revived by the History Center in 1996.
