Billy Lee & The Swamp Critters Bring “Gulf Coast Sound” to California Center for the Arts, Escondido

California Center for the Arts, Escondido, presents two free concerts by Cajun and Zydeco aces, Billy Lee & The Swamp Critters, on February 6, 2013. The band Billy Lee CCAEwill perform in the Center Theater at 4:00 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. as part of the Center’s WOW First Wednesdays series. This series is generously sponsored by Mrs. Marlin Brossart and the Escondido Rotary Foundation.

Band leader, Billy Lee, calls on his native South East Texas and Louisiana roots to create a spicy gumbo of “zyde-grooveable” Cajun and New Orleans Jazz dance music. His authentic Zydeco, Blues, Cajun and “Second Line Parade” is what the Gulf Coast sound is all about.

Playing both original and traditional tunes, this local San Diego band will get audiences in the mood to ‘Mardis Gras Down’.
